Fundamental Doctrine
The basic and fundamental doctrine of Truthway Apostolic Church shall be the Bible standard of salvation, which is faith toward Jesus Christ as the only true God, who has manifest Himself in the flesh, repentance from dead works, baptism in water by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the initial sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance (John 3:3, 5; Acts 2:38), and the perfecting of love and holiness without which no man shall see the Lord (Titus 2:12; Hebrews 12:14).
We shall endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit until we all come into the unity of the faith, at the same time admonishing all brethren that they shall not contend for their different views to the disunity of the body.
Core Doctrines of the Church
We believe the foundational doctrines of Jesus Christ and therefore of the Church are: repentance from dead works, faith toward God, the doctrine of baptisms (water and Spirit), the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment (Hebrews 6:1-3). Any fellowship of people who claim a membership in the true body of Christ must believe, teach, and practice these seven essential and fundamental doctrines, which were taught by Christ and His Apostles (Acts 2:42). There is no possibility of spiritual fellowship with any individual or body, which does not believe, teach, and practice the same (II John 1:9-11).
Our Core Values
The Word of God
We believe that God’s Word was perfect as He gave it. The Word of God is authentic, authoritative, inerrant, and infallible. This means that the Word of God is unquestionably genuine, it has the right to demand obedience from us, it is without mistake, and will never fail you.
We believe that the original writings were perfect and that they said without error what God wanted them to say. Copies and translations of the original writings are not perfect, but they are sufficiently accurate for God’s purposes in our lives.
Our Christian Apostolic beliefs and practices are rooted in a literal interpretation of the Bible which is God’s Word. We believe that the Bible’s teachings are applicable to all times and all cultures and will judge each of us individually in the end.
Prayer
As a Christian Apostolic Church we recognize the inherent value of prayer to discern God’s vision, leadership, and plan appropriately for an evangelistic and equipping ministry. As a church we will rely on prayer to see God work in and through all the aspects of our ministries.
The Priesthood of All Believers and the Vision of the Church as Contained in Ephesians 4
Every member in the body of Christ is gifted and called into ministry. This church embraces people in the discovery of gifts, needs, and God’s calling. We will endeavor to equip people for ministry in the family, the church, the community, and the world.
Servant Leadership
Our leaders must demonstrate humility, authenticity, accountability, and genuine care of people, and they will equip others to use their gifts in the body of Christ.
Team Ministry
Healthy community and teams are built around the diversity of gifts, team accountability, and the willingness of the people to work for the good of the body. We will serve together in order to transform lives.
Intentionality
We as a church embrace the equipping ministry as a value and we will model it through the intentional implementation of ministries to prepare, connect, and equip people for ministry inside and outside the walls of the church. The Home Fellowship Group Ministry is the primary focus ministry of our church in order to fulfill our purpose as an evangelizing and equipping church.
A Proactive Response to Change
As a Christian Apostolic Church we recognize and embrace the organic characteristic of change and we will respond creatively and proactively to shifts in culture. However, God has given His Church His Word which is timeless and includes His Mission, His Methods, and who is responsible for its fulfilment. We will endeavor to not only proclaim the Gospel but to live it out in our daily lives!
